Greetings, wayfarers! It’s time for my monthly news post … almost a week late! Sorry, the time escaped me. The end of the school year is always insane. Finals, field trips, paperwork. Teaching ain’t an easy gig. Heck, I can’t even remember what day it is half the time. Anyway. What happened to me this month? Lots.
Importantly, May is a month of birthdays. I turned 30 (ahhhhh!!) on May 7th, and Blond Wayfarer turned 2 on May 21st.
I’m still floored that my travel blog is functional two years later. This is surprising, because I constantly drop projects. Con. Stant. Ly. I don’t know if my fickleness stems from laziness, lack of motivation, fear of failure, or all three. However, Blond Wayfarer always comes back into my life.
My blog may not be growing as fast as other sites in this crowded part of the internet, but I’m pleased with everything that I’ve accomplished in two years.

What I’m Reading
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: Yet again, I’m reading whatever novel I’m teaching in school. I need to read over the summer. Need to. Anyway, even though The Fault in Our Stars was critically acclaimed and wildly popular upon its release, I had never bothered to read it, because … well, I’m a hypochondriac and cancer scares me. I’m actually enjoying it, though! It’s funny and makes me want to pack my bags for Amsterdam.
Favorite Travel Item of the Month

I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about Scotland in these monthly wrap up posts, haha. So I’ll talk about some local travel on my radar. I’ve been visiting New York City a LOT for field trips and Travel Massive events. This summer I want to check out some literary significant sights in the big city. In addition, summer means extra time at the Jersey Shore! I still want to shed some light on my maligned little state, and hope you’ll consider a visit sometime in the near future.
I’m trying to break bad habits after my birthday, haha. Habits such as eating better, going to the gym more, yelling less in my car, saving money. And it’s … not going too well. I’ll try again in June. New and improved me? Perhaps? We’ll see.
