Halloween is right around the corner!
Ever since I was five years old, Halloween has been one of my all time favorite holidays. In elementary school, I counted down the days on the calendar until October 31st arrived in all its orange and black, chilly weather, and candy corn glory. Hey, what else could you expect from a kid whose first major crush was Dracula? I’m not kidding.
In November, on my solo adventure in the French capital, I wanted to enjoy fine food, namely cheese and crepes, check out some luxury hotels in Paris, ogle at fine works of art in the Louvre, shop at the famous department stores, and more.
To be honest, the Catacombs weren’t even on my radar. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy looking at rows of skulls. However, upon meeting some awesome new travel friends on my walking tour, I agreed to pay a visit to one of the creepiest destinations ever.
Was it worth? Um. Yes. Totally. Touring the Paris Catacombs was a major highlight on my trip. I was super lucky visiting in November, because the infamous line to enter the Catacombs was nonexistent. Despite enjoying myself, the visit was still a bit intense for me – considering my wild anxiety.
Anyway, to celebrate this amazing time of the year, I’m treating with a super creepy photo essay of the Catacombs in Paris! Enjoy!
What did you think of the Paris Catacombs pictures? What are some super creepy destinations that you’ve visited? Or that you WANT to visit? Is Halloween one of your favorite holidays too? Why or why not? Share all your thoughts in the comments.
